Have followed Ali Casey on StatOasis for about 4 years and I highly recommend joining his group and following on social media. My initiation to his material was on Youtube where his videos are excellent! My favorites were videos on identifying market regimes based on price and volatility inputs. The StatOasis web site is a good community for interacting with other technical based traders and the blog articles are well written and easy to follow as long as one is ready to do some work. It is best to duplicate the systems and results on your own to really understand how they work. Over the last couple of years Ali has presented a lot of material on Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) which is where most people should start their investment journey until they become proficient in the more active trading strategies. TAA is also a good place to end one's journey as it is the perfect retirement investment option with trading once a month. Ali has put together many TAA strategies in a reasonably priced offering that deserves consideration as they use baskets of diversified assets, are easy to execute and have very good sharp ratios for TAA strategies. In full disclosure, I am not a customer of the TAA strategies as I run my own models, but the StatOasis strategies have excellent performance characteristics which are difficult for investors to duplicate on their own. While the investment/trading space is full of characters and charlatans, Ali is in the 1%!

Finding StatOasis definitely helped clear things up. Ali's teaching style, whether in his YouTube videos, newsletters, or the ATM course, just makes sense. He's good at breaking down complicated stuff so you can actually use it. The biggest shift for me came after taking the ATM course. Before that, I was kind of guessing and testing ideas randomly. Now, I actually have a solid process for building and backtesting strategies. Ali knows his stuff and explains it clearly. Plus, the community is a decent place to bounce ideas off others. I'd definitely recommend StatOasis if you're trying to get a handle on algo trading.

Hi, I’m Dave McDuffie, a retired financial executive with a long-standing interest in trading and strategy development. I'm sharing my journey into trading and how the StatOasis course has transformed my approach to automated trading. My journey into trading began early—my father was a stockbroker, and as a high school student, I had the unique opportunity to write programs for Dr. Edward Thorp to help validate his theories on valuing warrants and stock options. (Dr. Thorpe authored the books: “Beat the Dealer” and “Beat the Market”.) Later, I stumbled upon a trading robot for MT4 that performed exceptionally well from 2008 through 2010. While it was initially insanely profitable, it taught me hard lessons about leverage and risk management, especially when that bot's performance collapsed in 2010, in less than 2 hours it wiped out over 30% of my accumulated account balance. It also taught me to never trust any Black Box where I did not understand the trading logic. These experiences, though challenging, fueled my interest in automated trading and led me to explore new resources. Over a decade ago, I was an early adopter of StrategyQuant, back when it was called Genetic Builder. Unfortunately, even after investing in top-of-the-line hardware and hundreds of hours of use, I struggled to generate any profitable strategies, and the software eventually gathered dust. Years later, when I heard about a new version of StrategyQuant, my curiosity was reignited. But once again, my efforts fell short of producing meaningful results. I was on the verge of giving up until I discovered the Stat Oasis channel just as it launched. I was immediately impressed by Mr. Casey’s knowledge, ideas and insight into automated trading. I was excited to see what the course was going to cover next. The course is structured to accommodate all levels of students, from first-time beginners to experienced traders. Mr. Casey, with his background in computer science and trading, demonstrates a genuine passion for systematically analyzing data. The course revolves around using the StrategyQuant software to develop automated strategies, and it’s clear that Mr. Casey knows this software inside and out. What makes this course stand out is that it doesn’t just teach you how to build strategies—it focuses on why the process works. It acknowledges a critical truth: 1. There is no perfect strategy. 2. Every trading strategy will experience drawdowns, and some may eventually stop working. 3. Only trade strategies as a part of a portfolio of uncorrelated strategies. Recognizing these realities—that no strategy is perfect, that drawdowns are inevitable, and that a diversified portfolio is key—the course is built on the foundational principles Mr. Casey has shared in his free videos but ties them together into one cohesive and comprehensive package. You don’t need to sift through hundreds of videos and take scattered notes. Everything you need—from building strategies to understanding the reasoning behind the process—is presented in an organized and actionable way. For example, Mr. Casey explains that every market is unique. During a market crash, all stocks may fall, but the S&P 500 reacts differently than the NASDAQ. Similarly, metals like gold, silver, and copper may align at times but diverge at others, while energy commodities like oil and natural gas might not correlate at all. The key is to research each market for an edge that can be exploited on a repeatable basis. This insight completely changed my perspective. I realized that I had been chasing the elusive 'perfect strategy' instead of building a balanced portfolio. I had been using the software incorrectly, randomly searching for strategies instead of focusing on exploiting specific market edges. This realization finally came to me after I went through the whole class a second time. Completing the course has equipped me with the skills to develop and test robust automated strategies, build non-correlated portfolios, and effectively manage capital, significantly enhancing my trading approach. I already have created a unique collection of robust strategies for trading the S&P 500 futures market and am expanding into several other markets. As far as ideas for other strategies and markets, the course offers a tremendous amount of inspiration. You also have access to a long list of opportunities from the numerous examples Mr Casey has shared for free on his YouTube channel. If you’re serious about automated trading, I highly recommend this course. It has been a game-changer for me, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for my trading. As a Student of the very first ATM course this has opened my eyes about the true potential of SQX with this detailed course presented in proper English and . This is a good addition to the many free youtube videos Ali has released in prior years. Ali has provided good additional insight in platforms such as TradeStation and provided useful tools for Excel. The course covers everything from the basics and purpose of Algo Trading to realizing it in SQX including using datamininng and the creation of more complex workflows. The only thing I was missing were some ready turn key strategies tested and approved to work in live markets on which a new students could build upon to learn from and building their own strategies on it. The fact that this course always gets extended and updated and that there are Question and Answer streams every other month and also a online community with many sub categories makes it easy to exchange knowledge with other students and building a lasting connection.

Using Custom Projects to Create Highly Robust Strategies Without Programming Skills Even busy people can create a custom project once and launch it, then the computer will create highly robust strategies one after another. Of course, it is necessary to make full use of the knowledge learned at the ATM. You should think before you start trading. The world of trading is like F1 (Formula 1). Even if you could enter the race, it would be impossible to win. You should learn the system firmly and gain strength before participating in the war, and the opponents are hedge funds and professionals. To compete on an equal footing, use data mining software to automatically create and operate highly robust strategies. Making a strategy is similar to driving or cooking. I decided to make a living by trading, so knowledge is absolutely necessary, no one can take away the knowledge I got, and the numbers don't betray me. It's also nice to be able to communicate with like-minded people on the Discord channel. There were a lot of bugs, so I was worried when I was alone. Before taking the course, I was trading and never had consistently winning trades and after the course I realized I didn’t have a strong foundation of knowledge or understanding simple but important concepts such as market character, mean reverting, trend following among others. After completing the course, I feel much more confident and knowledgeable about trading and I have built a portfolio in stocks and futures with that are increasing my account balance month to month. One of the things I appreciate most about the course is the clear and concise explanations of concepts. The course material is well-organized and easy to follow, which made it easy for me to absorb the information and put it into practice. In a time when many traders are struggling with prolonged drawdowns across multiple markets, I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate Statoasis and Ali Casey. By combining the techniques from Ali’s ATM Masterclass with some of my methods (I’ve been coding trading systems for myself and other traders since 2015), And that’s with five months in 2024 where I couldn’t trade the portfolio at all — otherwise, I believe the returns could have easily touched +300%. Maybe I was lucky with the market conditions. Maybe it was just the right setup at the right time. Regardless, I see this as a strong result — and a testament to the power of having a solid framework, which the ATM Masterclass provided. Huge thanks to Ali and the Statoasis team. I purchased the ATM masterclass course, watched the videos and started creating strategies. The videos on youtube (highly recommend) is thorough and he gives away a lot of amazing free information, but the ATM course is next level. Most importantly the StatOasis community is full of helpful idea's and if you run into any road blocks Ali will PERSONALLY meet with you and help you work through what ever hang ups your experiencing. I think the most impressive and valuable part of working with Ali, is it is obvious he expects to be there for you for many years to come, not until your done with course. Today we met and we went over a one year plan and he talked about where he expects me to be in my fifties (thats 10 years away friends). One of the very few folks in the industry that is truly an educator and is in it for the love of teaching not for the quick money grab. Really cant say enough, worth every single penny.

I like your newsletters and I think they are one head above many others I mean probably better than all of them, and here is why: , some product and usually the topic topic that was originally in the newsletter or not uncovered even halfway just the tip of the iceberg in order to drag me in somewhere else. My experience with Statoasis and Ali is the best I can claim. To begin with, I am a trader like many others who did manual trading and lost a lot of capital. The approach in this place is professional and they let you transparently see the great disadvantages of manual trading. So the mere fact of migrating an emotional, manual, labor-dependent trading style with ridiculous expectations is an advance, like moving from gambling to serious trading. Second, the content that Ali exposes is of high value, with robust strategies, which today are profitable and robust, with a spectacular summary capacity, with transparent optimizations, with a sense of humor and with a transparency that can be seen. I am very sorry for the traders who are hooked like I was to content creators where BS and ridiculous expectations abound, RRs of 10:1, monthly growth of 100% and ridiculous things like that. Hi. I was trading manually about 5 years. But one day I found the Ali sqx course, and It was amazing. By April I bought the program and started to build strategies which are profitable. Nevertheless I kept on through the YouTube videos. And could start to design seasonal strategies, and also Larry Connors strategies. Later I learn how to create templates and improve the strategies. As a Student of the very first ATM course this has opened my eyes about the true potential of SQX with this detailed course presented in proper English and . This is a good addition to the many free youtube videos Ali has released in prior years. Ali has provided good additional insight in platforms such as TradeStation and provided useful tools for Excel. The course covers everything from the basics and purpose of Algo Trading to realizing it in SQX including using datamininng and the creation of more complex workflows. The only thing I was missing were some ready turn key strategies tested and approved to work in live markets on which a new students could build upon to learn from and building their own strategies on it. The fact that this course always gets extended and updated and that there are Question and Answer streams every other month and also a online community with many sub categories makes it easy to exchange knowledge with other students and building a lasting connection.

Ali's YouTube channel opened my eyes to what real algo trading looks like -- if you like that content, ATM takes it to the next level. You’re given a start-to-finish roadmap that ties everything together (which was one of the biggest missing pieces for me). Trading a portfolio of automated, robust, uncorrelated strategies truly does seem like the "holy grail" as Ray Dalio puts it. It's a ton of work to come up with that portfolio -- it's not easy, and you will have to devote a significant amount of time to developing it. Most of the course uses SQX to come up with that portfolio, and I’m not the biggest fan of SQX. However, Ali gives you all the education you need to understand the concepts behind developing a robust portfolio, and you can easily apply those ideas with other software. Overall, I would highly recommend ATM. Ali provides an amazing level of support to his students (during and *after* the course), and is probably the most valuable part of ATM. You can tell that Ali really wants all of his students to succeed!

I have always been interested in automated algorithmic trading because it eliminates emotion. But I didn't know anything about robustness of strategies, what robustness testing is, strength of trading in portfolio of strategies, correlation of strategies in portfolio, capitalization. I’ve been in the program since Feb, have found a way to create and find a lot of pretty good algos, but magic sauce happens when we combine the uncorrelated “pretty goods”. Biggest learnings. Test for worst case portfolio drawdown, size accordingly. Trade top strategies within that portfolio, cycle out worst performers every few months. Seems to be a winning recipe and am so excited to think about the next chapter in this journey I’ve been on for many many moons 😃

In a time when many traders are struggling with prolonged drawdowns across multiple markets, I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate Statoasis and Ali Casey. By combining the techniques from Ali’s ATM Masterclass with some of my methods (I’ve been coding trading systems for myself and other traders since 2015), And that’s with five months in 2024 where I couldn’t trade the portfolio at all — otherwise, I believe the returns could have easily touched +300%. I found out about Strategyquant in 2016. One of the best softwares out there when it comes to automatic trading. He was the only skilled youtuber to put out lesson videos about the software structure and how you can develop strategies from a bunch of different ways. I followed him for quite a while. Then found out about this masterclass of his. As soon as I got a free spot to buy the masterclass, I did. It was worth every penny. Using Custom Projects to Create Highly Robust Strategies Without Programming Skills Even busy people can create a custom project once and launch it, then the computer will create highly robust strategies one after another. Of course, it is necessary to make full use of the knowledge learned at the ATM. You should think before you start trading. The world of trading is like F1 (Formula 1). Even if you could enter the race, it would be impossible to win. You should learn the system firmly and gain strength before participating in the war, and the opponents are hedge funds and professionals. To compete on an equal footing, use data mining software to automatically create and operate highly robust strategies. Making a strategy is similar to driving or cooking. I decided to make a living by trading, so knowledge is absolutely necessary, no one can take away the knowledge I got, and the numbers don't betray me. I've learnt a lot, and wish I had more time to dedicate to SQX, but I'm getting there. I've been able to get a few strategies for MT4 working using SQX and have one trading live now on S&P500 so that's pretty exciting. We have to check if the strategy can survive in ever-changing market conditions. Therefore, we have to incorporate a variety of robustness tests in our development process. The exploitable edges of one single market are generally very small. Therefore we have to combine several robust uncorrelated strategies in a portfolio. This way we can lower drawdown and enhance potential profit. Ali has huge knowledge about trading and markets generally. He regularly answers questions in webinar sessions. I have found it very helpful. People in the community are helpful as well. But there is one caveat: trading is hard and investing is uncomfortable. Some hard work is required. Anyway, I recommend this course to anyone interested in algorithmic trading.

I learned how to generate systems which had an edge in different markets and on different instruments, from seasonal, mean reversion to break out type strategies. Additionally, there were Robustness testing sections which help ensure the strategies produced are not over-fit to previous price action coincidence. The course I thought encompassed everything that I imagined would be necessary. Have followed Ali Casey on StatOasis for about 4 years and I highly recommend joining his group and following on social media. My initiation to his material was on Youtube where his videos are excellent! My favorites were videos on identifying market regimes based on price and volatility inputs. The StatOasis web site is a good community for interacting with other technical based traders and the blog articles are well written and easy to follow as long as one is ready to do some work. It is best to duplicate the systems and results on your own to really understand how they work. Over the last couple of years Ali has presented a lot of material on Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) which is where most people should start their investment journey until they become proficient in the more active trading strategies. TAA is also a good place to end one's journey as it is the perfect retirement investment option with trading once a month. Ali has put together many TAA strategies in a reasonably priced offering that deserves consideration as they use baskets of diversified assets, are easy to execute and have very good sharp ratios for TAA strategies. In full disclosure, I am not a customer of the TAA strategies as I run my own models, but the StatOasis strategies have excellent performance characteristics which are difficult for investors to duplicate on their own. While the investment/trading space is full of characters and charlatans, Ali is in the 1%!

He's good at breaking down complicated stuff so you can actually use it. The biggest shift for me came after taking the ATM course. Before that, I was kind of guessing and testing ideas randomly. Most importantly the StatOasis community is full of helpful idea's and if you run into any road blocks Ali will PERSONALLY meet with you and help you work through what ever hang ups your experiencing. I think the most impressive and valuable part of working with Ali, is it is obvious he expects to be there for you for many years to come, not until your done with course. Today we met and we went over a one year plan and he talked about where he expects me to be in my fifties (thats 10 years away friends). One of the very few folks in the industry that is truly an educator and is in it for the love of teaching not for the quick money grab. Really cant say enough, worth every single penny.

My experience with Statoasis and Ali is the best I can claim. To begin with, I am a trader like many others who did manual trading and lost a lot of capital. The approach in this place is professional and they let you transparently see the great disadvantages of manual trading. So the mere fact of migrating an emotional, manual, labor-dependent trading style with ridiculous expectations is an advance, like moving from gambling to serious trading. Second, the content that Ali exposes is of high value, with robust strategies, which today are profitable and robust, with a spectacular summary capacity, with transparent optimizations, with a sense of humor and with a transparency that can be seen. I am very sorry for the traders who are hooked like I was to content creators where BS and ridiculous expectations abound, RRs of 10:1, monthly growth of 100% and ridiculous things like that. I'm sorry that Ali doesn't have more followers but I'll try to help with that. The forum is also first class, with serious traders, with traders with spectacular track records, and newbies like me who let us guide and give our opinions. As a Student of the very first ATM course this has opened my eyes about the true potential of SQX with this detailed course presented in proper English and . This is a good addition to the many free youtube videos Ali has released in prior years. Ali has provided good additional insight in platforms such as TradeStation and provided useful tools for Excel. The course covers everything from the basics and purpose of Algo Trading to realizing it in SQX including using datamininng and the creation of more complex workflows. The only thing I was missing were some ready turn key strategies tested and approved to work in live markets on which a new students could build upon to learn from and building their own strategies on it. The fact that this course always gets extended and updated and that there are Question and Answer streams every other month and also a online community with many sub categories makes it easy to exchange knowledge with other students and building a lasting connection.

We have to check if the strategy can survive in ever-changing market conditions. Therefore, we have to incorporate a variety of robustness tests in our development process. The exploitable edges of one single market are generally very small. Therefore we have to combine several robust uncorrelated strategies in a portfolio. This way we can lower drawdown and enhance potential profit. Ali has huge knowledge about trading and markets generally. He regularly answers questions in webinar sessions. I have found it very helpful. People in the community are helpful as well. But there is one caveat: trading is hard and investing is uncomfortable. Some hard work is required. Anyway, I recommend this course to anyone interested in algorithmic trading.

Have followed Ali Casey on StatOasis for about 4 years and I highly recommend joining his group and following on social media. My initiation to his material was on Youtube where his videos are excellent! My favorites were videos on identifying market regimes based on price and volatility inputs. The StatOasis web site is a good community for interacting with other technical based traders and the blog articles are well written and easy to follow as long as one is ready to do some work. It is best to duplicate the systems and results on your own to really understand how they work. Over the last couple of years Ali has presented a lot of material on Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) which is where most people should start their investment journey until they become proficient in the more active trading strategies. TAA is also a good place to end one's journey as it is the perfect retirement investment option with trading once a month. Ali has put together many TAA strategies in a reasonably priced offering that deserves consideration as they use baskets of diversified assets, are easy to execute and have very good sharp ratios for TAA strategies. In full disclosure, I am not a customer of the TAA strategies as I run my own models, but the StatOasis strategies have excellent performance characteristics which are difficult for investors to duplicate on their own. While the investment/trading space is full of characters and charlatans, Ali is in the 1%!

I like your newsletters and I think they are one head above many others I mean probably better than all of them, and here is why: , some product and usually the topic topic that was originally in the newsletter or not uncovered even halfway just the tip of the iceberg in order to drag me in somewhere else. But Mr Ali newsletters are something completely different every time he pick up some topic he gives complete analyze and the topic looks complete at least from the prospective of introduction to the ideas or techniques he is developing. It was very useful for better understanding the full process of building robust strategies and not fall on the illusion of beautifull backtests of overfited equity curves. The market regime part was also very helpful and makes a lot of difference on building strategies, but to be honest, . But ok, I think it was not part of the course but as before buying the program I saw that this subject was part of the program, I assumed we would have acess to it.. by the way, was because of that youtube video on market regimes that I became very interested on the ATM. But overall I’m very satisfied, you will just not have the fifth star!😉

Hi. I was trading manually about 5 years. But one day I found the Ali sqx course, and It was amazing. By April I bought the program and started to build strategies which are profitable. Nevertheless I kept on through the YouTube videos. And could start to design seasonal strategies, and also Larry Connors strategies. Later I learn how to create templates and improve the strategies. Everything though the free YouTube videos. I can not imagine how may improve if I join the course. Community helps a lot too. Thanks Ali.

As a Student of the very first ATM course this has opened my eyes about the true potential of SQX with this detailed course presented in proper English and making SQX's own courses (narrated by a non trading translator) obsolete. This is a good addition to the many free youtube videos Ali has released in prior years. Ali has provided good additional insight in platforms such as TradeStation and provided useful tools for Excel. The course covers everything from the basics and purpose of Algo Trading to realizing it in SQX including using datamininng and the creation of more complex workflows. to learn from and building their own strategies on it. The fact that this course always gets extended and updated and that there are Question and Answer streams every other month and also a online community with many sub categories makes it easy to exchange knowledge with other students and building a lasting connection.

You’re given a start-to-finish roadmap that ties everything together (which was one of the biggest missing pieces for me). Trading a portfolio of automated, robust, uncorrelated strategies truly does seem like the "holy grail" as Ray Dalio puts it. Most of the course uses SQX to come up with that portfolio, and I’m not the biggest fan of SQX. However, Ali gives you all the education you need to understand the concepts behind developing a robust portfolio, and you can easily apply those ideas with other software. Overall, I would highly recommend ATM. Ali provides an amazing level of support to his students (during and *after* the course), and is probably the most valuable part of ATM. You can tell that Ali really wants all of his students to succeed!

It depends on the person, but the shape is consistent: about two weeks to work through the material, and roughly six weeks of practice on top of it before you are trading something real. The practice is the part that cannot be compressed - building and testing your own strategies is where the judgment actually comes from, and that is the thing you are buying.

The method itself is platform-agnostic and the concepts carry over to whatever you already trade on, but this version of the masterclass runs its building and testing automation in SQX, so that is what the walkthroughs assume.
